5 Simple Ways to Save Time and Money

Being a stay at home mom, it might seem like I should have all the time in the world, but time easily gets filled up with play dates, music classes and so on. Also, I home school our son (just preschool so far) and nap times are now filled with lesson planning and lesson prep. How can you still keep a clean house? Get the groceries done? Errands? There sometimes is not enough time in the day. Working parents are even more limited to the time they have to get things done, and still manage to spend quality time with their children. Here are five easy ways I have found to save time (and maybe some money too) so you have more time to play around with your little munchkins.

Pick up from USPS

A friend of mine recently told me about this, how I missed this little gem for so long I will never know. You can sign up for an account at www.usps.com. Once you have an account you can print labels and schedule a pick up with the greatest of ease. Today I just sold a few items on PoshMark and went ahead and printed the labels from Posh's website and than logged into my USPS account and scheduled them to be picked up tomorrow. Easy! Now I don't have to waste my time in line at the post office.

Grocery delivery from Instacart

Months ago I discovered the amazingness of Instacart. Instacart is a grocery (and other stuff, like Pet stores and more) delivery service. It will save you tons of time. When I remember I need something, I just add it immediately to my Instacart and it saves the items for later. About once or twice a week I will schedule the delivery. How does it save you money? Well, how many times do you impulse by at the store? Maybe not an issue, but you did save the time and gas to get there, so for me it's a win! Delivery fees vary from store to store, but the fee for the local Ralphs is $5.99. Money well spent in my book. Use this link and you will get your first delivery free and save $10 off!

Amazon Subscribe and Save

Costco and Sam's Club can be fun to go shop at, but sometimes you just don't have the time. My solution, Amazon Subscribe and Save. The prices are closer to the bulk store discounts due to saving an extra 15-20% off of Amazon's already low prices. Another bonus is it's all delivered. My husband works late hours, so I am really glad we no longer spend once or twice a month fighting the crowds at Costco. Now Costco is something we do every once in awhile, and enjoy shopping to see what new seasonal items they have, and thanks to Amazon subscribe and save, we still never run out of toilet paper.

Free Pick up at Target

Other stores do this as well, but I am a Target girl (I used to work there many moons ago) through and through. I needed a costume quick for my son recently and amazon prime was not going to make it in time. My friend told me about the Target pick up. What a game changer. I went on their app, found the costume and ordered it all while my son was napping. It was available for pick up that night so I just added my husband as an authorized pick up. He was able to pick it up on his way home from work easily, and it only took a few minutes. Having him go to Target to find it would have taken much longer, and I am sure we would have ended up with some extra goodies in the cart.

Always take a Bentgo Box

Someone in our Tinkergarten class had these Bentgo kids boxes and immediately I knew I had to get them. I ordered two and always take one (or even two if we will be gone long like a Disneyland day) with us when we leave the house. I like how easy it is to pack and find the snacks, versus having to take a lunch box, I just put this inside the backpack. All the snacks are in one spot, no digging around, and it stays pretty cool through the day. If it was a day in the heat of summer, I would pack some ice packs. Before I go to bed I pack the Bentgo boxes and leave them in the fridge. It's the last thing I grab on the way out. Saves time in the morning, and time and money from not having to always grab a bite out. Today I was able to fit two small peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut up in the large compartment (one for baby pie and one for mommy), two tangerines, and some blueberries. I had room to spare and easily could have packed some nuts, or fruit snacks in the small circle (also good for dip, and no it wont spill into your other compartments!) compartment. Interested in getting your own Bentgo box? Click the box and it will direct you to Amazon. It's on prime and you won't be disappointed.

What are ways that you enjoy saving time and money? Every penny and moment saved is a bonus that we get to spend on our kiddos!
