Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Character Breakfast

The Grand California Hotel and Spa at the Disneyland resort has been getting some great upgrades recently. The rooms have been renovated and we have a new character breakfast at Storyteller’s Cafe, Mickey’s Tales of Adventure. We have done all the character breakfasts at the Disneyland Resort and I would have to say this one was yummy and adorable.

Plus sides of this breakfast

You see Mickey and Minnie! Most breakfast will have one or the other, so this was a nice update. Before this theme took over, it was full of “woodland” critters, such as Koda from Brother Bear and Meeko from Pocahontas.

The costumes for Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale are ridiculously adorable. I loved Mickey’s so much that we recreated it some for Baby Pie. All the characters loved this, and it resulted in an amazing character experience.

Food is usually pretty good at these character breakfasts. They had cereal, fruit, a cheese spread, yogurts, oatmeal, muffins, assortment of pre-made hot items (bacon, eggs, potatoes) and an omelet station. The omelet station is the best part because you can pick what you want and they are made to order.

Downsides

There was no PhotoPass character opportunity. This was a bummer for sure. The other three character dinning options (Goofy’s Kitchen, Donald’s new breakfast at Paradise Pier and Minnie’s in the park) all have PhotoPass. With us going on our son’s birthday, we were a little bummed that we only got candid shots. Thankfully the lighting was good, and the characters lingered.
