SoCal Water Babies classes taught our 20 month old son the, Swim -Float -Swim, method this summer. The cost was reduced due to grant funding from First Five Riverside County.
Cathryn is a fantastic teacher, who corrects and guides the children with positivity and kindness. Our son blew us away with how well he was able to learn and how proud he was of himself when he received his swim medal when he graduated. We are so thankful to have him safe and knowledgeable being in and around water. Several of our friends and family were impressed when they have seen him in the pool since learning, and many have signed up to also have their kiddo be a “water baby.”
Here is a video of Baby Pie in his swim lessons. We did 8 weeks of lessons, Monday – Thursday for 10 minutes a day.

Here is a description of the lessons from SoCal Water Babies website,
This series of skills is taught to children who have begun walking. Toddlers are taught to utilize that cross-coordinated motion for movement through the water. He or she will be taught to swim face down with eyes open; roll on his or her back to float, rest and breathe when he or she needs air; and then flip over onto his or her stomach to continue swimming until he or she reaches a point of safety. This swim-float-swim sequence can be repeated as many times as is necessary to reach safety.
